The
Stroke of Hope Club, Inc.,
a not-for-profit organization,
was founded in October, 1984. Our mission is to work toward
increased awareness of stroke prevention, improved community
education, and –above all- to provide information, education
and support to stroke “victors”, their families and
friends. The Stroke of Hope Club, Inc. provides services to
all stroke “victors”, their families and friends,
recognizing that no two strokes are the same and no two
families coping with stroke do so in the same way. Our many
years of advocacy on behalf of stroke victors and caregivers
throughout Palm Beach and Martin County have made a great
impact on our community.
In
September, 2011, our programs and services moved to the
campus of MorseLife, Inc. These weekly and monthly support
groups, programs designed for individuals 60 and over
(caregiver training and counseling) and our Aphasia Center
program are now administered directly by MorseLife, Inc.
The
Stroke of Hope Club, Inc. continues to provide important
information and referral to individuals of all ages who have
experienced stroke. Through our Inpatient Stroke Outreach
Program, supported by the Palm Healthcare Foundation, we
continue to provide inpatient contact to individuals and
families just beginning their journey to the “new normal” of
life after stroke. Our “Rehab Buddies” program, which
offers telephone support to new stroke victors and their
families, continues to provide vital information to these
individuals.
The
Caregiver/Victor Manual by the Stroke of Hope Club, Inc.
received an award from the MetLife Foundation and continues
to provide necessary peace of mind to caregivers and stroke
victors. The information to complete your own Manual is
included below (see CG/Victor Manual below). We continue to
encourage victors and caregivers to work with the volunteers
at the Stroke of Hope Club, Inc. to complete their manuals.
Manuals should be updated every 3 to 6 months, as the
accuracy of the information in the Manual is imperative.
Our
mission continues to be providing support, education and
information to stroke victors, their families and friends.
Our “virtual phone line” is your resource to finding the
programs and services specific to the needs of stroke
victors and caregivers. For more information, including how
to enroll in our Rehab Buddies program or for times/days of
programs available at MorseLife, Inc. please phone our
virtual office at: 561-627-2202.
Once
again, welcome!!! And we wish you the best!!! |
